The City of Camp Wood hosted the 2nd Annual Easter Egg Hunt and hat contest on Sunday, April 13, 2025.
We would like to thank the Nueces Canyon Community Foundation, Get-N-Go, and Southwest Rock and Stone for making it possible. Between them, they contributed 100% of the funds needed for this event.
We would also like to thank everyone that came out and helped hide eggs, judged the hat contest, and just pitched in where ever they were needed. It takes a while to hide 3,500 eggs!
What a wonderful community we are blessed to be part of! It is impossible to see so many people step and and help and not be thankful.
A huge thank you to the parents that took time out of their weekend to bring their kids. Hopefully they had as much fun as we did. It was so much fun watching them run around searching for eggs!
We had six entries in our hat contest and everyone left with a prize. There were some spectacular hats! We have so many creative people in our area.
On a personal note, the Easter Egg Hunt is my favorite event of the year. I get so much support from everyone. I am more thankful than I can express that so many people showed up to help this year. I couldn't do it without all of you. It was such a fun day for me and my family. I love seeing families coming together as a community.
I learn something from every event. This lesson was to be sure and move my car out of the park BEFORE hiding eggs or it's stuck. I apologize to anyone trying to take pictures with my car in the way. I'll try and do better next year.
Happy Easter!
